Watton Silver Band & Breckland Brass Band Christmas Charity Concert
December 15 @ 15:00 - 17:00
Watton Silver Band & Breckland Brass Band Christmas Charity Concert
Having been friends for some time and helping each other with engagements we are excited to announce that Watton & Breckland bands are joining forces to bring festive cheer to The Carnegie, Thetford on Sunday 15th December, from 3pm-5pm!
We love the sound we make together & hope you will too, raising funds for our chosen charities whilst singing some favourite carols. Watton Silver Band have chosen the Stroke Association following a very personal experience for one of their members, who has had two recent strokes. Every five minutes, stroke destroys lives. When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. That’s because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. Life changes instantly. Stroke Association’s Rebuilding Lives campaign is changing the way people think about stroke using stroke survivors’ real stories. Money raised at our concert will help people rebuild their lives. Breckland Brass Band have chosen Keystone Community Development Trust. We as a band were supported by the lovely people at Keystone this summer when we needed rehearsal space & had the accompaniment of ducks and wildfowl as we enjoyed playing in the garden of Riversdale Community Hub during the warm summer evenings. Keystone support many local charities and support groups throughout Breckland, including:
- Chapter 15 offers support and facilities for people without homes, including shower & laundry facilities at The Annexe
- Growkids is a clothes bank for children aged 0-11 years, for any families that need help regardless of income.
Christmas is not a happy time for all. The money we raise will help families and people on low income to find some joy in this festive season. Doors open 2.30pm. Tickets are available on the door or via https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/breckland-brass-band
